Despite her place in the industry, her father didn’t like women who worked in the business and consequently separated with his spouse. When she was just 17 years old age Karisma quit her studies and made her Bollywood debut in the film “Prem Qaidi” in the year 1991. In the following years, she worked on several films, including Jigar, Anari, Coolie no 1, Raja Babu and numerous others.
